About Us

EYMPC dates back to 1991, when Peter Glover founded the UK branch of the Himalayan International Institute of Yoga Science and Philosophy, in Ealing.

In 2019 the separate Ealing group was created, with the new name of Ealing Yoga Meditation and Philosophy Centre, and a vision to broaden and diversify its teachings through an exploration of the wisdom of diverse world traditions and instruction in Practical Philosophy.

The Centre aims to help individuals lead a happier, more natural life and so discover how to evolve spiritually. We offer courses and events on hatha yoga, breathing and relaxation, meditation and philosophy, with a traditional and authentic approach rooted in the Himalayan spiritual heritage.

Our Centre

The Friends Meeting House just off Haven Green in the heart of Ealing has been our base for over 30 years. It is our physical and spiritual home, a haven of peace and tranquillity in an otherwise busy and bustling London suburb.

Within the Centre we have access two large meeting rooms, a smaller lounge, and kitchen facilities. The Centre has a beautiful lawn and garden, the location for many of our activities when the weather permits. There is also ample free off-street parking for visitors.

Our Teachers

Director of Studies - Meditation and Philosophy Teacher

I first became interested in Philosophy over sixty years ago and was quickly inspired by how useful and practical it was. It offered simple exercises and guiding principles that reduced mental and emotional difficulties, lifted one’s well-being and improved relationships. I had already been teaching Philosophy for a decade or two before joining the HI / EYMPC in the mid 1990’s.

Meditation and Philosophy Teacher

I’ve been involved with EYMPC and HI for over 25 years, as both student and teacher. I am fascinated by the connections between different philosophical and spiritual traditions and the notions of wisdom and Truth in each. The opportunity to explore and discuss these with students is a great privilege and something I enjoy immensely.

Yoga and Pranayama Teacher
I started my Yoga journey almost accidentally. At the end of the 80s, I was teaching German at what was then Ealing College of Higher Education and attended – out of curiosity mostly – Yoga sessions in the lunch break. I was hooked from the word go. After a while, the teacher mentioned an upcoming training course run by the British Wheel of Yoga and recommended I should apply. I did and after successfully doing the course on a part time basis, I swapped careers so to speak and became a full time Yoga teacher. I have been teaching ever since in various organisations and clubs. At the beginning of 2000, I started teaching for the HI and now EYMPC. I like the combination of philosophy, pranayama and asanas which EYMPC offers. I have not looked back since and enjoy bringing the spirit of Yoga to the students.
Yoga Teacher

My journey into the world of yoga began as a personal exploration, seeking a deeper connection between mind, body, and spirit.

Building upon this foundation, I further deepened my practice and understanding by becoming a certified yoga teacher under the guidance of the British Wheel of Yoga. This comprehensive training instilled in me a profound respect for the tradition of yoga while empowering me to share its benefits with others. My commitment to the practice is reflected in my membership with the British Wheel of Yoga where I continue to learn and grow alongside a community of dedicated yoga practitioners.

Since embarking on my teaching career in 2012, I have had the privilege of guiding countless individuals on their own yoga journeys. Through my classes and therapeutic sessions, I strive to create a supportive and inclusive environment where students can cultivate inner peace, resilience, and well-being.
